I love blogs. I love the fact that you can read about pretty much any topic/ lifestyle issue/ creative endevour e.t.c. I have had several blogs myself. Unfortunately they were all messy disorganized and undisciplined biographical attempts at an online presence. This time is different. This is my first post as inspired by the Blogcademy, two day learning fest hosted by a team of three blogging queens; Shauna Haider of Nubby Twiglet and Branch, Gala Darling of Gala Darling and Kat Williams of Rock n Roll Bride.

I have been following Shauna and Gala‘s blogs for the last 7 years. I was style stalking Shauna’s design skill obsessively and was super excited at the prospect of meeting her in person. To be honest, I wasn’t all that motivated to develop my blog in association with my portfolio site. I was more interested in meeting my Design hero to discuss Branding and Graphic design in general. However, experiencing two days of intensive discussion combined with a room full of  crazy characters and their infectious enthusiasm, literally forced me to get it done.

A few highlights include:

• Meeting a bunch of incredibly driven, talented and inspiring Melbourne bloggers who I now meet up with every month for good food and great chats. See Melbabes Blogcadettes Facebook Page.
• Gaining insight to the world of full time blogging. Hot Topics include; social media integration, monetisation, branding and tips for boosting business through blogging. Blogcademy.
• Photobooth craziness.
• Goody bags filled with all kinds of trinkets.
• Being featured on my idols (Shauna and Gala’s) blog posts about the Melbourne Blogcademy (insert uncool squeal).
• Networking to build a great base of creatives i.e photographers, writers, developers and designers to swap skills with.

If you are interested in blogging, I highly recommend attending Blogcademy. Apart from being a wonderful place to meet like minded individuals, you will leave feeling inspired to take on the world and achieve anything you put your mind to.
